The National Electrical Code (NEC) specifies several requirements pertaining to maintenance that must be met.
NEC Article 700.3
- Any system that includes batteries requires periodic maintenance per section C
- Written records shall be kept of maintenance per section D
- Periodic testing shall be performed per section B
The National Fire Protection Association has also authored NFPA 110-2010, Standard for Emergency and Standby Power Systems, which outlines further requirements pertaining to maintenance.
ELESCO's Preventive Maintenance service meets all of these requirements. Examples of the written records can be found here. In addition to meeting these requirements our service maintains the connections within your system to reduce the effects of thermal expansion and contraction over time which can lead to loose connections that can become a fire hazard if left unattended.
